Lake Boulevard and Broad Street Resurfacing Project

June 17, 2024 Update

This is very brief update on the project.

A crew is scheduled to come in and grind the centerline, double-yellow stripes and paint the recessed permanent recessed markings starting at 6 am tomorrow morning.  This is a relatively brief operation, but the grinding does make noise so we are providing advanced notice of this work.

The only remaining item remaining on the project is to swap out the new manhole covers with City logo lids when they are available from the foundry.

General Project Information

The Lake Boulevard and Broad Street Resurfacing Project is scheduled to commence on April 1, 2024.  The construction will include Lake Boulevard from Hatch Street to Ship Street and Broad Street from Lake Boulevard to State Street.  The reason the project is being undertaken is to resurface the pavement and to replace sidewalk ramps as needed to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. The resurfacing work consists of a one-course (2” in depth) mill and overlay of hot mix asphalt (HMA) pavement.  The work is expected to be complete by early June.
