Parks & Recreation
The City of St. Joseph is fortunate to have 16 designated park and lakefront properties encompassing approximately 200 plus acres available to the public to enjoy.
Recreational activities and events are held at these various parks. Additional information and registration for recreational programming is available here.
The Parks & Cemetery Division is the crew assigned the task of maintaining these properties and their amenities which include restrooms, playground equipment, interactive and ornamental fountains, ball fields and courts, trails, picnic tables, swings, benches, picnic pavilions, flowers and landscaping beds and a community band amphitheater.
The City of St. Joseph has begun to advance the 2021-2025 Parks and Recreation Master Plan by developing specific plans for individual parks. The first three parks were Dickinson Park, Whirlpool Centennial Park, and Riverview Park. Master plans for Tiscornia Park and Paddler's Park at East Basin will be developed over the winter of 2022-23.
