MDOT 2027 Main Street Reconstruction Project

Background

Main Street from Central Avenue to the Blossomland Bridge, Ship Street from Main Street to Wayne Street and Port Street from Main Street are scheduled for reconstruction starting in 2027. Wayne Street from Ship Street to Bicentennial Bridge, and Niles Avenue from Main Street to Winchester Avenue are also slated for resurfacing as part of this overall project.  The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is leading the project but is working with the City to incorporate desired street scape elements as well as other changes as part of this once a generation project.

April 1, 2025 Status Update

A Public Open House has been scheduled on April 8, 2025 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm in St. Joseph City Hall.  Additional information on the open house can found notice available in the link below.  A QR code is also available that will take you the to the project website.
