Demolition and Temporary Dumpster Permits
Demolition Permit
On occasion buildings, or pools, are demolished to allow for new construction. To maintain a safe environment, before any demolition permit is issued, the Pre-Demolition Utility Disconnect Form Application must be submitted to the Building Inspection Department, along with the Demo permit application and fee of $100. The form requires each public utility to sign-off that the utility has been properly turned off or removed.
Temporary Dumpster or Portable-On-Demand POD Storage Permit
Temporary dumpsters or POD's should be placed on private property. However, there are times when this is not feasible and a permit is required to place the equipment on the city right-of-way. Permits can be issued for thirty day increments and can be renewed for not more than a total of ninety days. Permits must be received prior to placement of the dumpster and in some cases, the proposed location is not feasible due to public safety concerns.
Permanently placed dumpsters on private property do not require permit, however, in most cases a fence permit will be required to screen the equipment.
