Zoning Ordinance and Map
The Michigan Zoning Enabling Act 110 of 2006 provides the authority for local units of government to regulate the development and use of land. In order to regulate development and land the city relies on the Zoning Ordinance found in the Code of Ordinance Appendix A along with the adopted Zoning Map.
The Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing the documents and making recommendations to the City Commission on necessary changes or reviewing requests made by individuals or others.
The Community Development Director also acts as the Zoning Administrator and is responsible for interpreting the Zoning Ordinance and Map.
