Recreational Harbor Authority
About
The Recreational Harbor Authority Board was created under Chapter 15, Article II of the Code of Ordinances with the general duties including:
- Manage the West Basin Marina which is owned by the City of St. Joseph;
- Regulate and supervise all private and noncommercial boating in the harbor;
- Provide for the rental of slips and shall fix rates for dockage and storage in the marina; and
- Recommend capital expenditures or costs for the maintenance and improvement of the marina;
Meetings
The Authority meets April through October, at 12:00 P.M. on the last Wednesday of each month, at the St. Joseph River Yacht Club, 128 N. Pier Street.
Membership
The Recreational Harbor Authority is made up of seven members. Six residents are appointed by the city commission, and the city manager serves as the seventh member. Members serve a two-year term.
