Hiring: City Assessor
The City of St. Joseph is seeking a City Assessor to plan, supervise, and participate in the appraisal and assessment of real and personal property. This position is responsible for maintaining the City's assessment rolls in compliance with all applicable laws and policies, coordinating assessment processes with county officials, and participating in the Board of Review. Additional related duties may be assigned as required.
This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. In addition to a competitive salary, the City offers a generous benefits package, including a defined-benefit retirement plan.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree with specialization in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Level III Certification by the Michigan State Assessors' Board.
- Three years of experience in municipal property assessment.
- Personal Property Examiner Certification by the State Tax Commission.
- A valid Michigan driver’s license is required.
Starting salary: $75,000 - $85,000 DOQ
