Brownfield Redevelopment Authority

About

The Brownfield Redevelopment Authority was created in accordance with Public Act 381 of 1996 with responsibilities that include:

  1. Facilitating the implementation of brownfield plans;
  2. To promote the revitalization, redevelopment, and reuse of certain property, including but not limited to, tax reverted, blighted, or functionally obsolete property;
  3. To prescribe the powers and duties of brownfield redevelopment authorities; and
  4. Reviewing and approving all requested reimbursements.

Meetings

The Brownfield Redevelopment Authority meets on the first Wednesday of even numbered months at 4:00 p.m. as needed. Meetings are held in the City Manager’s office located on the second floor of City Hall, 700 Broad St.

Membership

The Brownfield Redevelopment Authority consists of five members appointed by the City Commission that serve a three-year term.
