Commissioner Peggy Getty
Peggy Getty has been a city resident since 2011 and was first elected to the City Commission in November 2017.
Commissioner Getty attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she majored in Education. She is currently employed by Wellsoft Corporation. In addition to her professional responsibilities, Peggy has volunteered with SWMSO and Special Olympics in St Joseph. Prior to moving to St Joseph, she was a volunteer for the USO and St. Elizabeth’s in Indianapolis, Indiana.
In first announcing her candidacy, Peggy states, "I look forward to representing the people of St. Joseph and the wonderful new ideas they have for problem-solving. In addition, I enjoy speaking with our residents and sharing their ideas of ways we can continue to improve our city."
Commissioner Getty's top priority includes being a voice for the residents. Specifically, as a Commissioner, Peggy is committed to:
