City of St. Joseph Receives Improved Classification of ISO Rating
Public Safety Director Uridge reports, "Congratulations City of St. Joseph."
He further notes, "We were notified this week by the Insurance Services Office (ISO) informing us that our “Public Protection Classification” rating (basically, the fire safety rating) has improved from a 5 to a 4, effective February 1, 2018. This has been a long-term city-wide effort to improve both the water system and our firefighting capabilities, and we are very proud of the work that our employees have put into these improvements. Our new rating places us in the top 13% of fire departments in the State of Michigan and makes the City of St. Joseph one of only two Class 4 rated cities in Berrien County.”
