Michigans Great Southwest

Federal, State, and Local Grants

Boat Launch - $20,000 for a new picnic shelter with tables and grills, automated parking ticket dispenser and landscaping.

Box Factory - $109,000 to assist the Berrien Artist Guild with the building purchase and renovation.

Clean Michigan Initiative - $776,775 for water, sanitary and storm sewers, and streets in Edgewater.

Coastal Waterfront Study - $37,000 to conduct a study of 14 sites for recommendation of future management of our water frontage.

Edgewater Cleanup - $200,000 for environmental remediation on more than 200 acres.

Edgewater Demolition - $1,750,000 for demolition and removal of former Ausco foundry foundation.

Emergency Dredging - $311,250 for complete dredging of West Basin Marina.

Lookout Park Improvements - $145,000 for park expansion and beautification.

M-63 Reconstruction - $13,500,000 to eliminate the M-63 overpass and reconstruct the highway.

Momany Drive Extension - $478,000 for a new road off of Upton Drive to service the commercial development at Edgewater, including the new Whirlpool Technical Center.

Phase IV Howard Family Recreational Trail - $624,817 to extend the trail from Lions Park south to Lake Court including a pedestrian bridge over the railroad tracks.

Rieter Automotive - $125,000 for job training.

Riverview Baseball Field Improvements - $78,750 for a new handicap ramp with switchbacks and steps, new lighting, sidewalks with landscaping and a drinking fountain.

Waldo Tiscornia Boys Field - $76,000 for new dugouts, lighting, a concession stand and a scoreboard.

West Basin Municipal Marina - $785,000 for transient slips and marina upgrade.
